To submit yourself to allergy food treatment is a very severe and at times distressing experience that have associated severe consequences.
Majority of people who experience food allergy exhibit common symptoms like inflammation of the mouth, throat obstruction and difficulty in breathing.
Diagnosing and testing is exceptionally difficult if complete information of the type of food ingested by the afflicted is undetermined since proper treatment can only be put into practice and administered if the type of allergy and its cause fully determined.
There are four food reactions one should be aware of:
- The typical food allergy is the classic fish/peanut allergy where the most common symptom is the distension of the throat. In this situation, the allergy food treatment may call for adrenaline injections and oral resuscitation. Apple, tomato, peach and celery can also trigger this type of allergy reaction directly affecting the esophageal area.
- Food intolerance results from enzyme deficiencies of the body that mimic allergic reactions but do not involve the body’s immune system; generally the source of malabsorption of or adverse reactions to natural chemical contents of food including allergy to food preservatives and colorants.
- Food toxicity from contaminated (bacterial endotoxins) or poisoned food. These toxins are organic food chemicals like alkaloids in potatoes. A negative response is induced in the form of skin irritation and flushing along with rapid pulse rates.
- Food aversion is commonly a self-induced allergy caused by a mistaken belief that specific foods cause allergy reaction.
Food allergy treatment can only be started and put into effect when an allergy, including its causes and effects are correctly and properly identified. It is necessary to consult a doctor in order to receive the right treatment in a timely manner. Food allergy treatment is very crucial as the situation can quickly become fatal within a short time with dire consequences.
Some potentially allergic foods to adults
- Nuts like Brazil nut, hazelnut, almonds, walnuts, pistachio, cashew etc.
- Fruits such as peach, apple, strawberry etc.
- Vegetables such as tomato, parsley, celery, potatoes etc.
Approximately 15% of the general population reports some type of food allergy reaction. Some individuals however are generally pleased with simply making a mental note of an adverse reaction to a particular food item instead of seeking food allergy treatment; they simply avoid the food without ever consulting a doctor. Failing to consult your doctor may sooner prove fatal.
